The Environment and How It Affects Dementia Care

Date:
Thursday, October 7, 2021
Time:
2 PM ET
Duration:
1 hour

Our physical and social environment impacts every aspect of our behavior, and it has an even stronger influence on a person living with dementia. Understanding how that works can help any post-acute organization to create a better atmosphere and promote better care of their patients living with dementia.

Join us and dementia care expert Teepa Snow for this free, live webinar where Teepa will explore the role that the environment has on a person’s ability to participate actively in life as well as its impact on challenging situations.

Teepa will place emphasis on:

  • Helping learners recognize the role that visual, auditory, tactile, and temperature cues play in triggering both positive and less positive interactions.
  • Modifying the physical environment for improved function, familiarity, and flexibility.
  • The need to readjust and make changes to the environment as the condition progresses and the person’s abilities and interests change.
